Merrylist privacy policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
The short version: Merrylist collects no data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Contacts. When you add people from Contacts, the system contact picker is shown and Merrylist receives only the contacts you choose: their name and birthday. Merrylist never reads your whole address book and does not ask for Contacts permission.
Your lists. People, gifts, prices, links, lists and notes are stored on your device, in storage shared only with Merrylist's own widgets. They are included in your device backup. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Notifications. Birthday reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent through a server.
Face ID. If you turn on the surprise lock, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. Merrylist never sees your biometric data.
Purchases. The one-time unlock is processed by Apple. We never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details.
Your data, your control. Delete a person or list in the app, or remove everything by deleting the app.
