SmileBeat Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026
SmileBeat is a metronome and timer for slow jogging. It is built so that your information stays on your iPhone. We do not collect any data.
What we don't do
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code that collects data.
- The app does not send your sessions, settings or any other information to us or anyone else. It makes no network connections of its own.
What stays on your iPhone
Your sessions. When you finish a session, the app saves:
- the start and end time and the active time,
- your steps and distance,
- the tempo you used and any pauses.
These records are stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone. They power the "Today" ring and, if you have the unlock, the History screen. They don't sync to iCloud. If you back up your iPhone, they are part of that backup, which Apple handles.
Your settings. Tempo, sound, goals and presets are stored on your iPhone.
Motion and Fitness. While a session is running, the app reads your steps, step rate and estimated distance from your iPhone's motion sensor, with your permission. It uses them to show your steps per minute and to save the session. This data is processed on your iPhone and is never sent anywhere.
Apple Health (optional). If you turn on "Save to Apple Health", the app writes each finished session to Apple Health as a running workout with its time, steps and distance.
- The app only writes to Apple Health; it never reads your Health data.
- Health data is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.
- To stop saving, turn the switch off in the app's settings.
- To remove the app's access to Apple Health, go to iPhone Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Health โ SmileBeat.
Live Activity. While a session is running, the timer and tempo appear on your Lock Screen. This happens on your iPhone only.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. The app checks on your iPhone whether you have bought the unlock.
Links
The "About slow jogging" screen links to an article on another website, which opens in Safari. That website's own privacy policy applies there.
Deleting your data
- To remove a single session, swipe it away in History.
- To remove everything the app stores, delete the app.
- Workouts already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
